Andrew Bruski Obituary

Andrew (Andy) Joseph Bruski, age 83, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1965, passed away at his home on March 6, 2006. Andrew was born in Wibaux, Montana on December 20, 1922 to John and Catherine (Kierzk) Bruski. Upon his graduation from Wibaux County High School he served in the US Army during World War II, spending time in Japan and the Philippines. Andrew was a Cashier in the Banking industry in Beach, North Dakota and Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired from the El Paso County Motor Vehicle Department in 1988. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, B.P.O. Elks and VFW; and was an active member of the International Polka Club. Andrew was a devout Catholic attending both Divine Redeemer and St. Joseph Southgate parishes. Andrew loved to dance and was the envy of the dance floor. He enjoyed playing the accordion, working in his yard, traveling and watching sports (specifically the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rockies). An occasional trip to Cripple Creek was always on the agenda. He was the happiest when he was with his family and friends. Andrew is survived by his wife Yvette (Dotchie) McCaskey; daughters: Karen (John) Armstrong, Marcy (Murray) Parks, Gwen/Wendy (Tim) Morgan, Camille/Cami (Bruce) Roberts; step-daughter: Jeanie Lechler; step-sons: Alex and Jim McCaskey; ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter; nine step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Anthony and Chester Bruski, one sister: Victoria Hardy, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Alvina Bruski; four sisters: Mary Ley, Bernadine Kunda, Frances O'Neill and baby Angeline Bruski, and one brother: Michael Bruski. Visitation will be held for Andrew from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9th, 2006 at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10th, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 S. Corona. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Uncle Andy had the most beautiful smile and twinkling eyes. He always made us feel welcome and came to visit us whenever he could in Kalispell and Arlee, Montana. He loved life and gave his all to enjoy it abundantly. His faith in God and family always shone through. Love from all of us in Montana: Pearl Nolan, Susan Kunda and Don and Anne Marie Stewart.
