Ann Sherman Obituary

July 6, 1931- November 19, 2008
Ann Helen Sherman (Honey Rich), beloved wife, mother and Nana, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2008 after a wonderful day surrounded by her husband and seven children. Ann was born July 6, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. Ann grew up in Brooklyn, New York where she attended Saint Teresa Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated from Saint Francis Academy for Young Ladies. At the age of 22 Ann married Jack Sherman in 1953, which began their 55 year journey together. Ann and Jack's journey included 22 years in the Air Force, which took them to Japan, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Indiana, Hawaii and Virginia establishing many new homes and enjoying the births of their 7 children. Ann settled with Jack and their children in Colorado Springs after retiring from the Air Force. Ann's life was devoted to her husband and raising their children. Ann spent many years working for Academy School District 20 and then owning a local restaurant called Sheldon's Luncheonette. Her fondest memories were watching her children grow and get married and having children of their own. Ann is survived by her loving husband, Jack Sherman; three sons, John, Brian and Kevin Sherman; four daughters, Bonnie Brown, Donna Jenkins, Mary Bauer and Kathleen Carter; four sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law, 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Ann is preceded in death by her first grandchild Sean Thomas Brown. Anyone that knew Ann was touched by her heart, her strong faith in God, her humor, and her loving kindness for everyone. Her many friends and her wonderful family are proof of her everlasting imprint on this world. A rosary and visitation will be held at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, on Sunday November 23, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. A celebration of life mass will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Internment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 25. Dear Mary (and all the Shermans),
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wonderful family. I was so sad to hear the news that your kind and loving mom had passed away. I will always remember her friendly smile and warm personality...it was a joy to know her at your home and at school. I hope you will gain some comfort knowing how many people she touched in such a positive way and that her memory will remain in our lives. Your mom was very well loved by all. Love, Mary Sharp

To all the Shermans --

I cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear of this news today. Mrs. Sherman - "MOM" - was one of my favorite people ever. An incredibly generous spirit, she always made us feel welcome and warm when we hung out with Donna. It's no wonder that Donna was always one of the happiest people I know, with parents like hers. Hugs to all of you kids -- and Mr. Sherm. We are praying that your grief will soon be replaced by the millions of fond memories everyone has of Miss Ann.
