Anna Crossey Obituary

Anna Mae Crossey was born July 7, 1917 to Frank and Margaret McCagh in McKees Rocks, PA. She was the seventh of eight children, and passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord with her family by her side on July 24, 2009. She and James Crossey married on April 29, 1942. She created a loving home for their family of seven kids. Jim was an officer in the Air Force, so they traveled the world together before retiring to Colorado Springs in 1965. Anna Mae was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends, spending time with her family, and trips to Cripple Creek. Her memory is treasured by her children, Maureen, Ann, Jim (Nancy), Dan (Judy), Patty (Rob), Michael (Marta), Kathy (Dean), and many grandkids and great-grands. She held dear the Whedons and the Valentines, as well. Visitation and rosary will be held on July 27 at 7 pm at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at the Cadet Chapel at the Air Force Academy at 10 am on Tuesday, July 28. Friends and family will gather at the Margarita at Pine Creek after the mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Pikes Peak Hospice or Divine Redeemer Catholic School. The family would like to thank Pikes Peak Hospice and Father Dan Ayers for the care and support they offered to our dear Mother during this difficult time.

Dear Dan,
Although I did not know your Mother, I do know that she was a wonderful person who raised a son of whom I am very, very fond. My heart is broken as it was when my own Mother passed away but your friends will support you during this very difficult time.
With love and deep sorrow for your loss.

Dear Anna Mae, We're so glad to have spent some time with you a few days ago. Our friendship with you and Jim spans almost 60 years, and our families have fond memories of times together as well. We will miss you, but know you're anxious to join Jim in Heaven. Tell him Hi. Mac and Jeanne Jewell

Anna Mae you were such a sweet lady to me when I came to the house, I gave you hugs hello and we talked for a little while. You checked on me to see if I was still there and told me to come to your room before I left to let you know I was leaving. Thank you for always being so nice to me. I love you..
Thank you Crossey family for loving your mother and taking care of her.
Love you all,
Mary Guzman
