Anna Kachel

April 24, 1931

September 22, 2021

Anna, aka Oma, was born in Altsattl Czechoslovakia to Olga and Rudolf Pleier April 24, 1931. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 90. She lived an amazing and historical life. She survived polio and diptheria as well as living through World War II. As a teenager her family was forced to leave their home country on cattle cars and began their new life in Germany. She learned English and worked in the P.X. on an Army base in Munich where she met her husband Robert. They traveled and lived on many military bases in Germany and the United States while raising their four children. Her strength and devotion to her family helped her through the loss of her husband at the age of 44. She has been the rock and matriarch of the family and has set an example of courage and resilience. Her legacy will live on for many generations to come. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and her parents Olga and Rudolph. She is survived by her sister Herta and family from Munich, Germany, her children Barbara (Randy Johnson), Robert (Deborah Kachel), Kathleen (Mark Grismore), and Michael (Monica Kachel). She is loved by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at Evergreen Cemetery on October 4, 2021 at 3:00 pm.
