Anna Mae Moore, age 91, passed away on August 26, 2025. She was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO.
She was born Anna Mae Snider on November 4, 1933, near McCook, NE, during the Great Depression. She was the daughter of Charles Nelson Snider, a farmer and carpenter, and Daisie Violet Gardner, a schoolteacher. She was delivered at home, with the assistance of her older brother Jay, while her father sought a midwife.
Anna graduated from HS in Ft Lupton, CO, in 1950 while taking several college courses. She always had a job even in grade school and most of her early married life. She married Carroll Edwin Bruce (1931-1956) in 1950; they had 3 children: Vicki Jeanne (1951-1999), Harlan Mark and Gregory Alan. After Carroll's passing, Anna worked in financial institutions, where she developed a talent for numbers. This skill also served her well in her passions for blackjack and for duplicate bridge, eventually earning her the esteemed Silver Life Master title.
In 1957, Anna married Harold James Fash (1923-1978). Anna worked for SDC in Colorado Springs, CO, while Harold boarded horses and later opened and operated Ponderosa Saddlery in Black Forest, Colorado. They divorced in 1967.
Anna married Francis Albert Fischer (1933-1995) in 1970 and became a devoted stepmother to his four children: Mark Francis, David Jerome, Paula Kay, and Eric Joseph, raising his and her own children in CA and CO.
While playing duplicate bridge in 1999, she met William Thornton Moore (1924-2024). They were married on July 11, 2000. Bill had four children by a previous marriage. They spent several snowbird winters in their Palm Desert condo before returning full time to Colorado.
Anna loved to travel and had done a lot of it in her earlier years. Her favorite place was the Great Barrier Reefs in Australia.
Anna is survived by her sons, Harlan Mark and Gregory Alan; five stepchildren; and many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Jeanne; and husbands: Carroll, Harold, Francis, and William.
Anna will be remembered for her warmth, grace, and unwavering love for her family. Her joyful spirit touched many lives and will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
