Anna Mae Tousley (Buege), 89, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026.
Anna was born on August 6, 1936, in Winona, Minnesota, to Edward and Hazel Buege. She attended school in Winona and proudly graduated from Winona High School in 1954 (Go Winhawks!).
Following high school, Anna worked for the glove factory and Salvation Army. In July 1958, she met Fred Tousley; Anna and Fred were married on December 29, 1959, and celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to Fred's passing in 2021.
Anna was a devoted PTA member and room mother and could often be found cooking or baking for a cause. In 1979, she rejoined the workforce with Colorado Springs School District 11 in the food service department. She was a Broncos and Rockies fan, an avid crafter, a romance-novel enthusiast, and always the first to contribute baked goods to school events, church functions, and her children's and grandchildren's activities. Many summers found her providing treats for Vacation Bible School children and staff. Long before she became a grandmother, Anna lovingly served as "Grannie Annie" in the church nursery.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kent Tousley; her parents, Edward and Hazel Buege; and her brothers, Willard, Robert, and Steven Buege.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Peters, Donna (David) Kouba, and Sharon (Richard) Flatten; her children, Karlyn (Steve) Scheiwe, Janet (John) Popovich, Leslie (Robert) Beers, and Daniel Tousley; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
A service honoring Anna's life will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Hillside Gardens (1006 S. Institute St) at 11:00am with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), a cause that was very near to Anna's heart.
