Devastating loss. I was working one night at a Manhattan restaurant. The owner of the restaurant pulled me over to a corner of the restaurant and asked me if I recognized the gentleman he just sat in my section. It was Mr. Bourdain. I was terrified. Mr. Bourdain could not have been nicer and less intimidating. It was an honor to meet him. Prayers to Mr. Bourdain's family. Hugh E. Loeser

I still have a difficult time knowing you are gone. Everyone, I'm sure, wishes if we could turn back time that maybe someone would be there for you in hour of loneliness and despair and listen to you and your thoughts to help you know that you were never really alone and that the world loved you.. I mourn your passing and grief is still raw as I'm sure it is many others. I never knew you except only through your beautiful show called Parts Unknown. My thoughts and prayers go out to you beloved family and dear friends, CNN and your crew. Thank you, Mr. Bourdain, for your travels to various places, learning about the people from different countries and great food and their cultures. I am getting quite the education and delightful, robust entertainment just watching all of your shows of Parts Unknown. I enjoy reading your books, too. You have left a beautiful legacy for all to share in great conversations with family, friends, etc. I will definitely miss you very much. May God bless you eternally and I pray you are at peace. Love to all and other Anthony Bourdain fans as well.

I just watched your final two episodes about N.Y.'s Lower East Side and The Bronx.
It was very sentimental journey as a child of the 6os and 70s growing up in the boroughs, it all felt familiar. My dad grew up in the Lower East side, I heard his stories and now yours. Rest In Peace Anthony- you were a gentle giant, a teacher, and great explorer. We are so much wiser for what we have experienced through you. May the beautiful journey continue - in peace.

Anthony you woke up this world. I remember watching you when I was lonely ur show kept me uplifted the stories the food . Mainly you! Though I loved ur spirit an the humble person you were. I hope someday his daughter and other family who loved him read how much he meant to people. I found his show no reservations during a dark time of my own. He was thoughtful smart and kept me engaged. It helped me to get through my darkness. Please know he was so inspirational. I felt his spirit and he helped me. God. Or whoever. Bless his loved ones. He was special.

How hard is to understand this brilliant brain is gone. The only hope we have is the promise from our God Jehovah, we will see him again in the day of the resurrection. Tony, we will see you again.

Anthony Bourdain was looked forward to weekly as a welcome guest in our home. His approach to travel and food was epic. When CNN stops showing Parts Unknown, we will truly understand that Anthony is gone. In the meantime we will continue to travel and learn with and from Tony.

Mr Bourdain was a joy to watch. Not only did he show us food of the world but people too. He taught me a lot about the joys of this world, the people, the places and the incredible joyous food!!!! You even came to a city near me, Seattle Washington. The music from that episode will forever haunt me. He also taught me to appreciate things that I never would have. He was a teacher, for sure. Thank you Anthony for giving us the many many gifts of this big blue planet and sharing it all with us. The gifts you gave are immeasurable. You are so missed. You left a hole in many lives including mine.

Finding it very difficult to watch Parts Unknown although I love it without you, I spend most of my Sunday nights compelled to it. I am also a Chef and although Canadian, am truly in debt for your knowledge, I look forward to reading your biography and always research your valuable cookbook. You meant a lot to us Chef's and will be remembered well.

I have not met Mr. Bourdain, yet he was always welcomed in my home. From No Reservations to Parts Unknown, I was glued to my chair eating P&J sandwich's with string cheese imagining I was there with him eating. You'll be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Mr. Bourdain...

I hope the new journey you are on takes you to a place where you can finally relax and take in the beauty. Thank you for the journeys you shared with us.

I have always enjoyed his show, am watching reruns now, waiting to see the final episodes. Anthony was my escape to other travel to other countries, cultures, people and food. It made my heart and soul happy to spend my evenings watching him. I am saddened that he hid his despair, and left too soon.

I'm watching your show now, still not quite believing that you are gone. As tears fill my eyes, I wish I could have helped you ease your pain. RIP Anthony, you touched so many. May you rest now.

Just rewatched two episodes of Parts Unknown with you and Marcus Samuelsson and Eric Ripert. You were curious, honest, funny and snarky. You immersed yourself in your fellow mans culture and we were lucky enough to come along for the ride. I hope you are at peace and know how loved and missed you are.

After I lost my job and went on to another grueling job, and then another grueling job where I travel, I would always watch Parts Unknown, Sunday evenings, as a special treat for me. I loved the upbeat positivity of embracing and learning about the world we live in. I, too, have fought, and continue to fight depression; it is not for the faint of heart and completely get how he could have had a weak moment and succumbed. I do not pass judgement; I only hope his pain is gone and I hope his loved ones can come to some understanding of this situation so they can continue life with as much peace as possible.

Of course I knew a little about Anthony Bourdain, who hadn't? But it wasn't until after he died that I really took an interest. I binge watched "Parts Unknown" to try to get to know him better. I searched for signs of depression and unhappiness. I could not accept this handsome, intelligent man who had the best job ever, could take his own life. He was blunt in his views and apologized for little. He offered culture, food and friendship on a silver platter. No doubt those who personally came in contact with will not soon forget him. RIP Mr. Bourdain.

Anthony, I developed such a crush on you.....
There was such a feeling of doing something adventurous thru you. Even having traveled quite a bit myself, it was very different. You on my TV, you in my living room, you in my life. Living thru you visiting exotic locations, eating scrumptious food, bantering with people across the world. What a great escape if not for an hour. Thank you for your gifts, your candle burned so bright, may your warmth live on thru humanity❤

The world needs more like you. Odd, outspoken, fresh ideas, a bit of humor, a realist willing to try anything. You have definitely gone way to soon.

I simply liked the he combined history, culture, with humbleness and humanity as well as a good reasons to try different food. I wonder if National Geographic magazine has an article written about him?

I wish I could say this TO Anthony. I am deeply saddened that the harshness of life in this era could overcome such a strong being to this degree. I honor Anthony for telling truths that no one suspected, and for teaching the world that there is more to food than fuel. He was always about appreciating the regional, always about fellowship. His early food experiences in the South of France would have given him the certainty that friendship and authentic, hearty cuisine bless and improve all present. Upon surviving a severe heart attack and coming out of a coma, I binged on your show " Parts Unknown". In doing so, I traveled the world with you, discovering the richness of many countries and their respective cultures. I was able to see the bonds and commonality we all share. Moreover, it was clear that life through out the world is about the richness of time spent connecting with others and sharing culture through food, laughter and kindness. I never got to thank you for this gift, for it has given me perspective on the remainder of my life.
