Arcola (Pat) Patten was born in the small metropolis of Swaledale, Iowa. Pat had many happy memories of growing up in a small town with her four siblings. After graduating high school in 1944 she moved to Mason City to attend nurses training, where she met and married her husband, James Allbaugh in 1947. The Army stationed the young couple to Germany where they adopted their daughter, Kathryn After retirement from the Army, the family moved to Colorado Springs in 1965 and became longtime residents of the west side! Pat started her work experience in Colo. Spgs. clerking for Judge Hardeman in 1965 and then became a Civil Service employee for over 27 years with time spent at Fort Carson, Air Force Academy, and NORAD. After Jim's passing she opened a ladies apparel shop, "Fashion Street' in several locations throughout our city. Pat was a long time member of the Symphonic Guild, AWBA and most importantly to her, the First Evangelical Free Church of Colo. Spgs.,CO. Ten years after her first husband's death, she was reacquainted with Judge Hardeman through the allergy clinic where they both received treatment. The two were married in 1990 and Pat was privileged to have Hunter's twins, Tracy and Clay added to her family. Pat and Hunter lived happily until his death in 2004 where she lived out her life with many good friends and family that loved her. Her "Jesus like' heart blessed many and she will be greatly missed. Pat is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Landry, grandson, Ira Stivers,
step daughter, Tracy Hardeman, two nieces: Ginny Lovic and husband, Marc, Holly Clup and husband Kenny, a nephew Bud Allbaugh and wife Vicky. Her cousins and several great nieces and nephews. Pat is preceded in death by her mother and father (Grace and Roscoe Patten) and her siblings; Howard, Bob, June, and Walter. Services will be held at the First Evangelical Free Church located at 820 North 30th Street on Sept. 9th at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Evangelical Free Church's relocation fund.

Dear Kathy, I remember you and your Mother fondly. I sent your Mother a Christmas card which the Post Office returned to me yesterday and thus learned she passed away. She and your father were vert kind to John and I when we lived in Colorado Springs. You were one of my first piano students. I fondly think of those days too. Please accept my most sincere condolences. I would love to hear from you Kathy.

Pat always made my birthday, and the kids´, and my husband´s, special. This week has been hard missing the way she made my day special. It wasn´t the same without her. She touched our family in so many ways. We can´t believe she´s gone yet she lives on in the recipes we shared, jokes, laughter. Love you Pat. Thankful for our time together!9
