Ardis C.M. Hill was born in Crawford County, Wisconsin to parents Neely and Pearl Swangstu. She grew up on a dairy farm near Mount Sterling. She helped work in the tobacco fields, hay fields, and driving tractors from an early age.

Ardis graduated from Gays Mills High School in 1947. She attended La Cross Vocational School and graduated with a Business degree in 1949. In the early 1950s, Ardis moved to Colorado Springs. She spent her career working in the secretarial field, in both private industry and in Civil Service. Ardis was a member of NSA (National Secretaries Association). She retired from Civil Service at Peterson Air Force Base after 31 years. Five generals attended her 1986 retirement to show their respect for her dedicated service. Ardis continued to work part-time in private industry until she was 70 years old.

Ardis married Louis Cimino in 1957 and had two sons, Sam and John Cimino. In 1967, Ardis married Bob Hill. Ardis enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, biking, daily walks, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons; Sam (Diane) and John Cimino, her grandsons; Michael and Zach Cimino, her sister-in-law Ida Hill, two step-sons; Rick and Rob Hill, her step-daughter Shirlee Yeley (Jim) and their children, as well as many great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Ardis was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Norvin Swangstu.
