Ardys "Ardy" Kay (Thornburg) Dowd, 72, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021, in Colorado Springs. She married Raymond "Ray" Dowd 54 years ago, and they ultimately raised their four children in Colorado Springs. Her favorite careers had been as a professional cake decorator, and as a School Bus Driver for at-risk kids for Widefield School District 3. In retirement, she took up jewelry-making and volunteering with the Sertoma Club and Fountain Valley Senior Center. She could be found at craft fairs and gun shows selling her jewelry, or playing cards, dominos, and bingo at the Senior Center and made many friends doing so. Ardy never met a stranger and made friends easily. The family is deeply grateful for and would like to thank everyone at Rocky Mountain PACE, Life Quality Homes, Brookdale Broadmoor, Memorial Hospital, and Abode Hospice. Burial will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery following a small private service.
