Arlene R. Avischious entered into the restful arms of her savior early in the morning of November 19th, 2021. Arlene was born in Chicago, IL on July 31, 1931 to John Lentner and Loretta (Rademacher) Lentner.



She met her future husband of 63 years, Raymond Avischious, while both were freshmen in high school. Arlene graduated from Concordia Teachers' College in 1953. Ray and Arlene married on a very hot July 4th, that same year. She and Ray moved to Colorado in 1996 to be near their children and grandchildren.



Ray and Arlene lost their beautiful home and virtually everything they owned in the Waldo Canyon fire. They left the house with only three days of clothing and what they really needed, which was each other.



Fiercely independent, Arlene was active in numerous charitable organizations, and was known to her family as a "professional volunteer". In addition, she sang in the choir at First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs.



Arlene is predeceased by her husband, her parents and brother Keith (Violet) Lentner. She is survived by her brother-in-law Art (Elsie) Avischious and two children, Tom (Cathy) and Gary (Nancy Allen) Avischious; her grandchildren TJ (fiancée Chelsea) Avischious, Lauren (Matt) Lewis, Karlee (Brett) Williams, Matthew (Olivia) Avischious and Adam (Anna) Avischious and five great-grandchildren, Landon and Ally Avischious and Kye and Pierce Williams and Brielle Lewis.



There will be a visitation from 4-8pm, Thursday, December 2nd at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, 80903. The memorial service will be Friday afternoon, December 3rd, at 1:00 pm, at First Lutheran Church, 1515 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO, 80907.
