Arlene Yvonne (Schlagel) Belt
Born to farm parents, Solomon and Betty Schlagel, in Mead, Colorado. Educated in Kersey and graduated from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
A long time educator, Arlene taught at Palmer and Mitchell High Schools and Irving Middle School.
She was an ardent card stamper and made beautiful cards for friends and family. She was gifted at arts and crafts and loved to travel with her husband Bob and other friends.
She was a winter snowbird in Texas, Florida, and Arizona where she loved to play golf and attended sporting events. Arlene served as president of the Patty-Niners local golf club.
Arlene is survived by Donald Robert (Bob) Belt, married in 1961, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last December. She was a devoted mother and survived by her two children: daughter Lani Lei Hudspeth (Michael), son Kevin Robert Belt (Kailee), granddaughter Caroline Loni Belt and sister, Verlyn Ammon (David).
A devout Christian, Arlene was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church. A private family service will be held at a later date. Any donations can be made in her memory to the church.

Mrs. Belt was my 10th grade typing teacher at Mitchell High School. She taught me some great life lessons and I will always be grateful for her. She was always so kind.

Always had fun with our lunch group of friends. We called ourselves the "golf widows" as the husbands were always at the course!! Loved making cards with her. She had such a talent. We will miss her!
