Arlene Keenan, 92, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. Born on April 5, 1932, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Arlene lived a full and vibrant life.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Keenan and Chris Keenan; her daughters, Kathy Kemling and Colleen Conroy; her grandchildren, Tim Crippen, Kalli Brown, Corey Kemling, Tina Maldonado, Emma Conroy, and James Conroy; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild as well as her cousins, Donald Puffpaff and John O'Jennessis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Keenan; her children, Jim Keenan, Anne Crippen, and Sean Keenan; and granddaughter, Debra Tuliszewski.
Arlene was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved reading, gardening, camping, and the theater. Throughout her life, organizations like the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site and the League of Women Voters stole her heart and earned her tireless commitment. She was funny, and unstoppable, and a fierce advocate for those she loved. The world was a brighter and more interesting place with her in it; she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on January 22, 2025, at 10am at Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sisters of Benet Hill Monastery.

Arlene was a wonderful lady and did so much for White House Ranch, aka Rock Ledge Ranch! She was the cheerful organizer of the Ranch office for so many years, always happy, always helpful, always friendly. Peace and love to her family and friends.

I knew Arlene from my ten years of volunteering at the Rock Ledge Ranch. We enjoyed many conversations and she was always helpful to me. What a fine person she was. I know she had a wonderful life. When I think of the Rock Ledge Ranch, I think of Arlene's voice!

Mrs. Keenan, I'm sorry you are gone. Thank you for taking better care of than my birth mom. The Keenans house was the place to go. It always felt safe there. My prayers are with your loving family. They are going to miss you as a great mom. You did so much for me without knowing how much I loved you. You were the cool mom. The sleep overs were so much fun. You made sure we had snacks and enough blankets. I'll always keep those memories close to my heart. I love you, Mama Keenan. You're in a better place than we are. I'll see you again one day. Please say hello to my dad. We miss him a lot.
