Arthur Slaven Obituary

Arthur Maurice Slaven, 83, of Cascade, Colorado went to be with his Lord on April 18, 2010 in Colorado Springs, Colorado due to cancer. He was born November 18, 1926 in Sitka, Kansas to John and Dora Slaven and was the 5th of 12 children. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II he married Lois Wolfe on August 15, 1948. His career as a truck driver took him coast to coast and border to border, but was predominately in Colorado, where he made his home in Cascade in 1957. Arthur was an avid hunter and fisherman with many adventures. He was also very active in his church. Arthur is survived by his wife Lois, his children, Barb Schneider, Ron Slaven, Marvin Slaven, Jeanne Hessong, Colleen Slaven, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, six brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Memorial Gardens 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, with interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO.
