Audrey Guy Obituary

Guy
Audrey Nell Guy
March 11, 1940 - December 30, 2017
Audrey Nell Guy went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2017 after a year-long fight with cancer.
Audrey was born on March 11, 1940 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to John Harvey Tally and Delta Belle (Porter) Tally. Audrey married Raymond Lloyd Guy on March 14, 1964 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Violet Kate Tally, lovingly known as "Kitten"; her brother, Jake Tally; and sister, Benolyn McKibbon.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Raymond Lloyd Guy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; their four children: Delta Fleming of Dacono, Colorado, John C. Guy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lois Widmark of La Luz, New Mexico, and Leata Campos of Alamogordo, New Mexico; her brothers: Harvey, Will, Steve and Butch and her sisters: Dawn and Ronye, all of southern New Mexico; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Audrey was most proud of returning to complete her high school education, receiving her diploma at the age of 45. She was also an accomplished professional seamstress for 18 years and loved to crochet. She was an avid fan of the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos and was crazy about little league baseball, keeping the scores for years.
Audrey was very active in T.R.E.A. (The Retired Enlisted Association) for 10 years when she was auxiliary treasurer, as well as snack bar manager, and even called BINGO regularly. She will be sorely missed by the organization.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. January 20, 2018 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, in Colorado Springs with a reception following. Her entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum's Liberty Columbarium.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the wonderful care they received from Pikes Peak Hospice. The family requests a donation to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.

My mother, Debbie and I, went to TREA at least once a week. Audrey was a phenomenal woman. She was very compassionate. Just a good hearted person, always. She will be missed. Our prayers are with her family during this time.

Mrs Guy - a beautiful, sweet, loving woman. I've known her since childhood, and my memories are all very sentimental.

My Mom's best friend for years. I remember long nights my parents and Mr and Mrs Guy (my parents insisted we show respect, addressing both by Mr and Mrs) playing cards, telling jokes, and laughing into the wee hours of the morning.

My parents loved both Mr and Mrs Guy immensely. When we lost Mom and Dad they were as heartbroken as the family. Both were with us, loving on us as we grieved.

Sadly, we did not keep in touch - but the love was always there.

God bless you Mrs Guy.
