Audrey Quigley Obituary

Audrey G. Quigley died July 18, 2006 at Pikes Peak Hospice after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Audrey was born on March 30, 1933 in Schleswig, IA., as the only child of Arthur C. and Faye A. Gottburg. She was raised in the nearby town of Sac City, IA. She graduated from Sac City High School in 1951. Audrey is survived by her husband, Michael Quigley and two sons: Robert and Steven Jensen; and daughter, Christina Larsen. She also has seven grandchildren and eight and a half great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, father and one son, Daniel Jensen. She moved to Denver, CO., with her husband, Robert A. Jensen and two young sons in 1956. She had two more children. She was a caring housewife and active in her church. Audrey had a beautiful voice and sang with and directed the church choir. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1974 with her family in tow. Audrey married her husband, Michael G. Quigley in 1976. They had 30 wonderful years together. They both ran a house cleaning business for many years. Most of their customers considered Audrey and Mike part of the family so they did babysitting for kids and animals too. Audrey was loved by all those who met her. She had many friends. Audrey also loved her animals. She had several cats and dogs living with her at any time. She was active in the Basset Hound Rescue and Adoption for many years. She was very religious in the Jehovah's Witness and performed many activities with them. Audrey was very close to her three children. They will miss her deeply, not only as a mother but as their best friend. She would talk on the phone with each of them daily. We had many, many happy times together. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbott Lane, Colorado Springs, CO., 80905. Memorial Services will be Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Cheyenne Hills Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 1225 Lake Plaza Dr., Colorado Springs, CO. 80906.

I am deeply sadden by the passing of Audrey. She was a great neighbor and friend for many years. We communicated when ever we could after having to move apart. She was a wonderful person. Audrey, I will miss you dearly.
