What a beautiful picture of my dear Uncle Al. I have many fond memories stored in my heart of him. I will always cherish his laughter and good cooking. I love to hear the story about how my mom and dad met while working in his Cafe in San Luis. On behalf of my whole family, our love and prayers go out to Aunt Lola and cousins. May God be with you all.

Al Romero was one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure to know. He and his lovely wife, Honey, welcomed me into their home as an "adopted daughter" on many occasions during the 1990s and early 2000s when I visited their home with their youngest daughter, Cynthia. If ever there was a house filled with love of family and friends, it was at Al and Honey's home in Colorado Springs.
Many of my fondest memories of Al involve him and Honey sitting on the loveseat in their living room holding hands and during the times when they would affectionately talk to Cynthia's pet bird, Frankilindo. Al taught Frankilindo some tricks and would "bathe" Frankilindo under the kitchen water faucet to the delight of us all.
Heaven received a very special angel when Al Romero entered the pearly gates last week. I hope he and my father have been able to meet up there to talk about their little girls.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this very sad time, especially with dear Honey, Margaret, Sharon, Loretta, Cynthia and Carl. May you all strengthen one another through your love and faith during these most difficult of days.
God Bless you all.

My Uncle Al was a great man and he will be dearly missed by all of our family. I was fortunate to be able to grow up with him living close by. I learned many things from him over the years, like how to properly process my wild game. His sharp memory was also a wealth of information when I was wanting to learn more about our family history. Uncle, I will always feel your presence when I am fishing because the flies that you tied me over the years will still be at work tricking those fish.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Al a couple of times when he visited Carl and Pat in Austin. The most vivid image is of Carl driving down the lake in his bass boat with Al in the passenger seat, hanging on for all he was worth. It was clear that both Carl and Al were accustomed to being outdoors and to each holding their own in their adventures. My thoughts then were how lucky the two were in sharing those times together. It inspired me to get my own dad out on the water with me.
My thoughts and prayers are with all the Romero Family.

I have many great memories of Uncle Al. My parents and I would vacation at the Romero home, dinners around the tablewere always enjoyable. I will always remember my dad and Uncle Al laughing and joking, always enjoying each others company. It warms my heart knowing that my dad was waiting for Uncle Al at the gates of Heaven...probably had a good joke ready for him.
