Barbara Lynn (Tetzlaff) Benish passed away peacefully at her home in Laveen, Arizona, on November 15, 2021, at the age of 83.
Barbara was born on November 12, 1938, in Chicago to Carl and Ella Tetzlaff and was raised in Elmwood Park, Illinois. While vacationing in Estes Park, Colorado, she met the love of her life, a trick horseback rider named John Benish. The two married in 1961 and spent a lifetime together, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in October.
Anyone who knew Barbara knew her passion was dancing. She owned and operated her own dance studio in Colorado Springs for more than 20 years and choreographed dozens of recitals, dinner shows, and variety shows with her own personal flair.
Barbara is survived by her husband, John, her five children, Laura Lyn (Benish) Broughton, Erika Kim (Benish) Frawley, Veronica Beth (Benish) Nuvolini, Mark Alan Benish, and Alicia Leah (Benish) Beer, her nine grandchildren, and her 11 great-grandchildren. They will all miss her dearly.
A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held for her at 1 p.m. on November 26, 2021, at Divine Redeemer Church in Colorado Springs.

I have such great memories of Barbara choreographing the Dad-Daughter shows at Benet Hill. She was such a talented woman & her passion for dancing showed. Blessings of comfort to the whole family
