Barbara Birkett Obituary

Barbara "Dino" Birkett, age 73, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and formerly New York, passed away on September 9, 2015 at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was born on September 5, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John and Frances Dixon and was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and grandmother.

Barb had a unique personality. She was very stubborn and knew exactly what she wanted. She was an avid NASCAR fan who loved Dale Ernhart, Sr. You could not mention Jeff Gordon to her without comment. She was a woman of strength, courage, and was very strong willed.

She is survived by her six children, Lisa Tumblin, Rhonda Tribby, William Tumblin, Richard Tumblin, Tammy Vanrealte, and Donna Birkett; 21 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Springs Funeral Services Chapel, 3115 East Platte Aveune, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
