Barbara Brooks Obituary

Brooks

Barbara Ann

(Bryant) Brooks

April 23, 1938

January 19, 2022

Barb passed away unexpectedly on January 19th at Penrose Hospital from a cardiac event. She is survived by her children, Pamela Rae (Brooks) Thomas, Donald Earl Brooks, Jr. and wife Robin Lynne Brooks and grandchildren Joshua Ryan Brooks and wife Alisson Montero Brooks, Sarah Rae Thomas, Kristen Ann Brooks, Sandra Brooke Thomas and Mitchell Conner Brooks.

Barb was born in Gary, West Virginia to Gladys (Wilson) Bryant and Parley Bryant. The military brought her to Colorado Springs in 1974 with her former husband, Donald Earl Brooks, Sr., U.S. Army Ret. After lovingly raising Pam and Don, Barb worked at the Walter Drake and Sons Silver Exchange until retirement. She returned to work serving lunch at Jenkins Middle School and enjoyed the youthful energy there until she retired again at the age of 81.

Barb was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed bowling, golf and Saturday night dancing at the Polka Club. She recently celebrated a joyous holiday season with her family. A formal service is not scheduled at her request, but please remember her fondly when hearing a song by Adam Lambert and Queen, watching football and Tom Brady or playing the slots at Cripple Creek. Barb was an amazing mom, grandma and friend who will be profoundly missed.
