Barbara Finigan Laird passed away on Jan 11 after a brief bout of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Kearney New Jersey on Oct 17, 1931. She attended Beaver (Concordia) College in Philadelphia before starting a teaching career in Fair Haven, NJ. As the wife of an Air Force officer, she lived in Germany, Montana, Alabama, Long Island, New Jersey, and Taiwan before settling in Colorado Springs where she resided for 47 years. She was an active volunteer at Memorial Hospital and with the Assistance League. She moved to Denver in 2016 to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. Not surprisingly, she also found several bridge groups and was able to materially improve her game. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herbert "Bert" Laird II and her eldest son, Herbert "Tripp" Laird III. She is survived by her daughter Ann Laird (companion Rick Platz), son Douglas Laird (wife Elin Overvik) and 5 grandchildren: Stephen, Kristina, Henrik, Kristian, and Helen Oda. She was a great wife, wonderful mother, caring grandmother, and a true friend to many.
