Barbara's family. Although I knew Cousin Barbara only slightly, I always enjoyed her e-mail. She wrote a story for my book, Dolls Remembered. From all the loving messages here, it's clear that she will be remembered.

Mom, Thank you & Dad for your love and support of Samantha and Tierney. Tierney enjoyed being at Grandma and Grandpas house before she went to preschool.

Samantha remembers that you taught her how do a "bridge" when shuffling a deck of cards.

You seldom missed the shows that Dennis, me or the girls participated in at the senior center or Tierney's violin recitals.

You will be missed.

Love, Deby

Grams,

There truly aren't enough words to express what a wonderful person you have always been and how much I love and will miss you. I am so incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to live this life with you. I will always remember our evenings spent playing Old Maid and Go Fish when I was a kid and later on, the hours-long conversations we would have on the phone while I wandered around the dog park with Colby. Funny thing is, even though I grew up, you never seemed to age. Just like while you were here on earth, I know that you are living it up in Heaven as the social butterfly that you will always be. I love you so much and I am comforted by the fact that I will see you again some day.

Love you always,

Tiffy

The Crosser family moved to Security, Colorado in 1963. Barbara Crosser became well known in and around the Fountain Valley area. She loved to meet people and enjoyed talking to them as well as inviting them into her home. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed visiting with family and relatives where you would always hear her laughing and having fun. Mom loved to play bingo and was always ready to play a never ending variety of cards and games. She was interested in sharing good health and willing to try a new recipe from someone in the neighborhood.

Mom enjoyed music and art and gave me my original start in music by encouraging me to learn to play the piano, the guitar and the drums. She spent a portion of her time selling jewelry, vitamins and even one year sold toys right out of the home. She opened ‘Crosser Music' in the Fountain Valley Shopping Center and later moved the location to the Security Shopping Center. This was during the bigger part of my Jr. High and High school years. I helped out at the store as much as possible with construction, marketing and sales plus I gave piano and guitar lessons. The better part of my personality comes from my mother.

After she retired from the music store, Mom and Dad would frequently support my music career by attending many of my performances and concerts. I also became involved in helping them, along with my grandmother Grace; manage the Knights of Columbus lounge.

Mom had a strong passion for the Fountain Valley Senior Center. She volunteered her time in many ways that included:

• being an active member of the advisory council;
• always available to help fold and prepare an average of 800 newsletters each month for mail out;
• volunteering as a lunch hour desk attendant and collecting name cards and distributing lunch hour food tickets;
• helping out at the monthly birthday social event with giving out prize tickets and selling FVSC button pins for the special noon time meal drawing;
• loved to play cards and was an active advocate on bingo day by collecting and distributing game day cards and verifying winning participants;
• involved in many of the senior trips and outings.

She attended many fundraising events and activities that included;
• musical entertainment, socials and shows;
• the annual golf tournament;
• bingo and game night.

You would always see her participating in wearing her FVSC t-shirt and FVSC button pin for most of the special activities and fundraising events. She was a very social and likable individual introducing herself to everyone. You would always see her smiling and most everyone at the Center knew her name.

Barbara Crosser, my mother will certainly be missed by all of her family, friends and acquaintances. She was a social butterfly and a joy to be around. She was the ‘Jewel of the Community'; truly a one in a million!

To Mom, I will always remember you - thank you for all you've done!
Sincerely with Love - Dennis

Dear Mom,

I remember the many things you taught me either by your words or your actions. You taught me to be kind and forgiving to others. I learned from you that most times the gentle approach was the best approach in life and with getting along with others. I never heard you criticize or gossip about anyone. You had amazing wisdom, and surprised me often with your down-to-earth reactions and comments.

You allowed me to explore and grow in any direction I desired with encouragement. You gave me the freedom to be me. With that freedom I learned how to be responsible for myself and that was my most valuable lesson of all.

You were always willing to help me with Dana and Lori at a moment's notice and made their time special while they were in your care. All your focus was all on them from playing games to making special meals. There was always room in your house to put an extra bed for a family member or child in need or grandchildren in your care.

I miss you Mom. I keep both you and Dad in my heart to continue to guide me through each and every day.

I love you,
Kay

Mama,

There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss you. Every
thing I do, everywhere I go and everything I see reminds me of you. Although it's heartbreaking now, I know it'll bring me peace in time to have so many things that remind me of you and how wonderful it was to have you in my life.
You taught me so much just by being you. Most of all, how to love and laugh. You always saw the good in things and I loved the way that you were always happy and how much you enjoyed life. I will always remember playing cards with you, looking into the stands at school to see you there supporting me, relaxing in the pool together talking about everything and nothing, but most of all... your little girl giggles and how they made me feel. Thank you for always being there for all of us, taking care of all of us and our children, and the positive impact you had on all of our lives.

Love you always,
Michelle
