Barbara (Chisesi) Meade passed away peacefully January 18th, 2018. She was 51.
She was born September 19th, 1966 in Chicago, IL. Barbara was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend, and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Her passions were teaching, traveling, music, her animals, football and laughing. She attended Manitou Springs Elementary and High Schools. She went to the University of Northern Colorado where she received a Louis Armstrong music scholarship for the saxophone. After getting married, Barbara spent time in the Middle East where she taught ESL at an American International School. Upon returning home, she earned a teaching degree from the University of Central Florida, and later her Masters, specializing in teaching exceptional education, and was awarded "Teacher of the Year" in her district shortly before having to retire from the job she loved.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph and Joan Chisesi; and is survived by her daughters, Brittany Barnett (Blaze), Jamie Mullinnix (Jerad), her son, Tyler Meade, her grandson, Jace Mullinnix, and her sister, Diane, and brothers, Thomas, Craig (Patti), Larry (Ellen), Joseph (Alisa), Daniel (Tammy), and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and a multitude of friends.
Services will be 10:00am February 10th, 2018 at Community Congregational Church of Manitou Springs, with burial proceedings to follow.
