Barbara Ann Riewerts, born September 2, 1930, passed peaceably through the heavenly veil on May 31, 2014, to the welcoming arms of family and friends in heaven. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she blessed the lives of family, friends and strangers alike with an uncommon kindness, compassion and generosity. Born in Berkeley, California, to Carl and Anna Waller, she spent her early years in Oakland, Hollywood, and Los Angeles, California. Later her family returned to Oakland where she attended Castlemont High School. She married her first and only love, Edward O. Riewerts, in 1949, for all time and eternity. They share a love of family, friends, and helping others. Especially blessed by her life and nurturing spirit were her children, Cindy Pontes, Janet Gonsalves, Steve Riewerts, Tom Riewerts, and Ed Riewerts, Jr., as well as 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Per her wishes a small private service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity or the VITAS HME Solutions, would be appreciated.

Uncle Ed and the Riewerts family, we will all miss Aunt Barbara very much. She was a wonderful person and fun to be around. We will always remember her and that's what counts.
