Born March 14, 1925 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to John and Mary Cannell. Died May 20, 2018 Colorado Springs, CO. Lifetime resident of Colorado Springs, CO.
Preceded in death by her brother, Ens. Allen Cannell and her husband of 66 years, Andrew F. Vaclav.
Survived by her four children, John "Drew" and wife, Susan Vaclav of Cotopaxi, CO; David and wife, Connie Vaclav of Durango, CO; Jody F. Vaclav of Playa del Rey, C; and Elizabeth V. Tickel of Colorado Springs, CO. Six grandchildren: Amy V. Felker, D. Christopher Vaclav, Robert A. Vaclav, Michael C. Vaclav, Christina D. Tickel, and Zachary A. Tickel; and seven great-grandchildren.
Barbara was a devout Catholic working endlessly with the St. Mary's PTA and always a strong supporter of the Catholic education system and St Mary's parish. Vice-President of the Archdiocese Parent Teacher Association. Working with other ladies, catering wedding receptions through the Catholic church and Property Manager.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother always giving of herself loving, caring and generous. Barbara enjoyed music and loved to play the piano. She enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States and Europe with her family. A homemaker and a den mother to many young cub scouts always nurturing and having fun.
Barbara was loved by so many and will be missed.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday May 22, 2018 from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Swan-Law Funeral Director's followed by a rosary at 7:00p.m.
The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday May 23, 2018 at 2:00p.m. St. Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 and graveside services at Evergreen Cemetery.
