Barbara Ward Obituary

Barbara Ward, age 69, passed away on February 22, 2016. She peacefully left this world surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1965 and was a homemaker.

Barbara Ward was born on October 5, 1946 and was raised by her father, Jose Felix Cordova, and her grandmother, Clarita Cordova. On January 29th 1966 she married Moses Ward in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

One of Barbara's favorite hobbies was reading. She could often be found at the kitchen counter happily reading the latest novel. She also enjoyed entertaining and would love seeing the satisfaction from people enjoying her cooking (especially her green chile)! She also enjoyed playing bingo but above all else, she had an immense love for her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church as well as the VFW.

She is survived by her loving husband, Moses; her children: Merle Sean Ward, Jody Aaron (Laurie) Ward, and Jennifer Regan-Sarah (CW) Ward; her sister, Janice (Ray) Rodarte; her grandchildren: Kelly Paige Ward, Xavier Donavin Solis-Ward, Brennen Moses Ward, Lane Mateo Roe, and Aislin Gabriella Roe. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Felix Cordova, and her grandmother, Clarita Cordova.

A Rosary will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2715 East Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs CO, 80909. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A reception will be held following the Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
