Barbara Lu Yalich 1930-2025
Barbara Lu Neeley Yalich was born in Jetmore, Kansas on December 10, 1930, to Kenneth A. Neeley and Alice Charlotte Neeley. The family moved to Colorado Springs to escape the dust bowl. She met her husband, Milo Yalich, at Colorado College in 1949 and they were married in 1950. Their marriage lasted until Milo's passing in 2014, and the marriage was one of true love and devotion.
Barbara dedicated over two decades of service to Colorado College, culminating her career as the Vice President of Development and College Relations. She was a strong advocate of women's rights, a longtime community leader known for getting things done and absolutely devoted to her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband,Milo. She is survived by her adult children; Nick Yalich (Betty) and Jan Betts (Don), two brothers; Curt Neeley (Angie) and Mike Neeley (Kay), grandchildren Kelley Betts (Kenny) and Nick Betts (Christen) who have her great-grandchildren, Quin and Niko.
