Barry Michael Jencson, 73, resident of Fountain, CO, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Barry, a veteran, served in the United States Army and then went on to work in civil service, retiring from the United States Air Force Academy.
He loved bowling, spending time with friends, cruising in his beloved BMW, tending his garden, engaging in spirited games of backgammon and sipping great whiskey.
Barry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn, his 3 children, Joy (Scott) Johnson, Barry (Allison) Jencson Jr., Dawn Courkamp, stepdaughters Genita, Alysha, Brianne, and sister, Marlene. He also had multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, evidence of a life well lived.
Barry will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery starting at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Barry Jencson to American Legion Post 38, 6685 Southmoor Dr., Fountain, CO 80817.

I had the pleasure of meeting Barry while working at the AFA Civilian Personnel Office and bowing (Just 4 Fun Team) with him. We had a lot of great laughs and he always kept me on my toes.
Barry will remain forever in our hearts and in our memories.

Barry don't think I ever thanked you for getting me out of Mitchell Hall and into roads & grounds we both ended up in transportation @ USAFA we bowled together with the Zig Zags that was fun I will miss you but I have memories to last the rest of my days thank you my friend.
