“Courage, dear heart.” A reminder to myself to keep going, to get back up like my dad has always done. He has taught me that a courageous heart is a miraculous thing. A courageous heart can heal a family. A courageous heart can heal a nation and maybe even the world.

I have wanted to talk with you and your family ever since we heard of Beau's passing, and never thought until now to find this avenue. We lost our son Gavin Roskamp in 2011, and every time we hear of a parent losing a child, our hearts break a little more. You've been through so much. It is the wrong order, but we have our faith, and we have to find a way to continue to live life as best we can without our lost children. God gives them to us, and when they leave us too soon, we must focus on what we had. Our son was 16 years old. We got those 16 years and wouldn't trade them for anything. Our only child, our 43 year old son Gabriel died in September 2016 with the same GBM 4 diagnosis. He lived only 7 months and one day from the day of diagnosis. In my job I administratively support the Moonshot initiative. A cure to save others must be found and it gives us great comfort to know it is a high priority in our government. We miss our beloved son so very much as we know you miss your son Beau as well. Our prayers are with all of the Biden's now and always, as you know we have to live with our loss for always. We also pray for Senator McCain and his family. God bless everyone during the holidays. My husband and I will be reflecting upon our grand shared memories with our most wonderful son.

Like yours, my heart is broken. I was shocked by the news and would like to extend to the Biden families my heartfelt sympathies. So charming, I had a brief conversation with Beau on the afternoon following the Dover High School commencement ceremony a couple of years ago. He was grabbing a bite to eat and headed to DC to see his family. Such a genuine and approachable person. Thank you BEAU BIDEN for touching the lives of so many...You are MISSED!

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,

I don't think Americans realize how rare an individual Beau Biden was. Though his dad was in the spotlight, I have always felt that Beau Biden had himself the makings of great leadership. Now, in his death, I am learning just how principled a person he was - deferring an easy Senate race to finish his job. He was a father, a person, and a public servant before he was a politician.

My heart is heavy for the Vice President, Dr. Biden, Beau Biden's wife and family. This is a tight-knit group of family members, and I know the gap will be seemingly wide without Beau here. However, I do know that the history of the strength of this family mean they will be able to remake their lives. Their lives will again become whole. I know that they will honor Beau's life beautifully.

All of America is with you, Biden clan. We are with you in your loss and hope for your healing.

Vice President Biden and Family: May God wrap and comfort your family with many prayers and blessing at this sad and difficult time. Beau's pain has ended and now continues to guide the family as an Angel and continues his work through others. May he remain a beacon of light and hope for those he championed. My sincere condolences go out to the Biden family and friends. It was sad, yet I was grateful to view and hear the emotional funeral Mass and profound legacies and eulogies for Beau Biden. What an honorable man he was.
I lost my youngest brother, a military man, a few years ago. The day before his death, he gave a very moving eulogy for our dear father; this was just after losing our dear mother a few months before. This was sadness beyond for us...Our faith in God helped us tremendously.
May Our Good Lord bless and comfort the Biden family and friends, knowing what a special man Beau was, and that he will live on in all who knew him.

Growing up in Delaware, I recall how approachable The Bidens were. Then Senator Biden, was always just Joe from Delaware. I met he and his sons when they ate spaghetti and raviolis at St Anthony's Italian Festival. Genuinely good people and a good, close knit family. I'm so very sorry for their loss.
