Dear Aunt Sue,
Thank you for being there for me through the series of phone calls we shared during my illness last Summer. I know you truly understood the physical pain I was in and the emotional toll it was taking on me. I wish I could call you to tell you that I am feeling so much better. I miss you and your laugh. We shared some tough times together, and I am forever grateful that you are finally at peace.

Wow, for some reason Benita came to mind and I wanted to see what she has been up to all these years and this is what I find. I am so sad about this. I was stationed with Benita on our first AFB in New Mexico and she was such a friendly young girl. She was way ahead of her times back then but she was genuine! She was a good friend and GI.

Sue shared love in her smile, that's certain. I'll be thinking of that true Sue smile.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Sue welcomed me into the Rinehart family after I met her sister Linda in 2004. I will always remember Sue's warm smile and caring heart. She will be dearly missed, but I am comforted because I know that she has found peace and happiness in Heaven.
I won't forget you Sue.

I am honored to have Sue as my "big" sister. You could say I was her shadow during our childhood, following her nearly everywhere, doing practically everything she did. We were always close and only grew closer when I lived with her during the summer of 1978 when she was stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL. Earlier in 1978, she wrote on the back of her Air Force photo to me, "Sis, you mean the world to me & I wish you all the best in all your endeavors. Remember, I'll always be there whenever you need someone! Love, Sue" And, she always was.
Sue, I know you are now with God and at eternal peace. I also know when it's my time, you'll be there to greet and hug me. Until then, I know you are with me in spirit. I love and miss you, Your "little" sis, Dee

Sue and I dated a few times right after I got out of high school. She was a very sweet girl with a ton of energy and personality. She had a way of making a deep impression with people. I cannot believe she is taken so young.

Aunt Ginny and Daryl,
I was so suprised by your call concerning Sue. I remember exchanging letters with her when we were kids. We take so much in life for granted, like keeping in touch with family. We do know that we will see Sue again, we have that hope in Christ. I love you!

I remember Sue as a kind, giving, "always there for you" friend.
And of course, her famous "pranks" and sense of humor! I think she pulled one of her most famous ones on me at the Post Office! My deepest condolences to Sue's family; and Linda, you are in my prayers.

My condolences to all of Sue's loved ones.
I still remember her taking me under her wing during our childhood visits to Collinsville. She would pull this bookworm outside and insist that I join her and her friends playing softball. She will always be held fondly in my thoughts and prayers.

As a union steward, Sue saved my backside many, many times. The world will be a sadder place without her mischievous smile and that gleam she would get in her eyes when she was up to something...she will be missed. My condolences to Linda and Sue's family.
