Benito Cutrona Obituary

Benito "Ben" Cutrona, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed from this life to life eternal on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at age 87.

He is survived by his daughter Bonita "Bonnie" Angotti (Paul); grandchildren, Kristin Sullivan (Wally), Michael Hohl (Vanessa Bernal), and David Cosel; and precious great-grandchildren, Alexander Hohl and Peyton Sullivan. Ben was predeceased by his wife Mary (Mittower) and daughter Linda Cosel (Gary).

Ben was born on October 8, 1926 in Wilmington, DE to parents Frank and Adelia (Leardi) Cutrona. He had three sisters, Pauline, Ruth Ann, and Janice. The family moved to Reading, PA when his was very young and he remained in Reading until 2005 when he relocated to Monument, CO to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Paul Angotti. Until recent years, Ben could frequently be seen walking his dog Bella in Woodmoor, greeting neighbors and strangers alike with a friendly smile and wave.

Ben served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. He loved music and especially enjoyed singing in his church choir and local barbershop quartet. He was a member of the Pretzel City Chorus (Reading) and America the Beautiful Chorus (Colorado Springs). He retained his rich baritone solo-quality singing voice throughout his life. His favorite past-times included golf, bocce, and poker.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 17750 Knollwood Blvd., Monument, CO 80132.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Mission Outreach Fund or Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation.
