Benjamin Mitchell Obituary

Benjamin passed; on Wednesday May 25 with family all around him. Benjamin was a private man that loved spending his time with family and close friends. He started his life in Pulaski, Va. and joined the United States Army in 1945 at the age of 14. He spent 23 years as a N. C. O. and achieved the rank of 1st Sergeant. After retiring from the U.S. Army he spent 25 years with EI Paso County. He retired as the Supervisor of Personal Property Taxes for EI Paso County. He also had a Bachelor's of Science degree. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary E. Mitchell (Collins) of Widefield and three sons Terry, Paul (Deborah), Randy (Irina) and four grandchildren Benjamin, Sarah, Oksana and Stas. He was proud to be a member of several club's including The Retire Enlisted Association, VFW 3917, Sertoma and the Korean War Veterans. Service will be held at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Security on Friday May 27 at 10:00 am, 120 Leta Drive, Security Colorado. Flower's gratefully appreciated but declined, Please make donations to The Retired Enlisted Association Scholarship Fund, 834 Emory Circle, Colorado Springs, Co 80915.

Eloise, Im thinking of you and your family at this time. I understand what your feelings are as you know I went through the same thing in 2007. I always remember the marriage of you and me. 6/6/11 Dear Mary and Family. I was out of town and just found out about Ben. I was so sorry to hear the news. My heart goes out to you and the family.
