Berenice Petty Obituary

Berenice Wieland Petty, 85, died peacefully on June1, 2013, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Berenice, was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where she graduated from El Paso High School and worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company. It was at the Gas Company where she met her husband of 65 years, Travis Petty. Berenice's family was at the center of her life where she ensured that all 7 children had an enriched upbringing filled with home cooked meals, good education, sports activities, arts, literature, travel, and pets. Her interests included family, cooking, gardening, reading, card games, and travel. She was an active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and generous supporter of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Judes' Hospital, and numerous other Catholic charities. Mrs. Petty is survived by her brothers, George and Paul, and her seven children: Brian T. Petty, Paul Petty, David Petty, Sean Petty, Kevin Petty, Karen Petty, and Michael Petty and her 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded recently in death by her husband, Travis Petty. Visitation Friday, June 7, 5-7pm Swan-Law Funeral Directors. Mass of the Christian Burial, Saturday, June 8, 11:00am Corpus Christi Catholic Church Burial to follow at Crystal Valley Cemetery, Manitou Springs.
