Bernard Baca Baros Obituary

Dr. Bernard Baca Baros died peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Golden, Colorado at the age of 74.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy; his children, Erik (Michelle) and Lia Dahler (Bryan); his grandchildren, Trevor Dahler, Palo, and Wylder Dahler; his siblings, Raymond (Maria), Rosalie Gomez, Adam, and Greg (Lena); and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Benjamin, Viola Lucero, Mary Lou Lucero, Toby, Leonarda, and Mary Eve.

Bernard was born on July 24, 1942 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Alfredo and Magdalena Baros. He graduated from Colorado State College in 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, in 1967 with a Master's degree in Chemistry, and in 1977 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado. He married Judy in 1973. After moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bernard began working as a dentist. He practiced Dentistry for 32 years. In 1976 and 1978, the couple welcomed Erik and Lia into their family. His children remember him as a driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Bernard was an avid tennis player and loved his motorcycles. He was a generous individual who loved his wife and who was passionate about spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Golden, Colorado, with a reception to follow. Fr. Dennis Garrou will officiate the ceremony.
