Bernard Patrick Obituary

Patrick
Bernard "Bernie" Patrick
June 21, 1936
May 12, 2024

On Sunday, May 12th, Bernard (Bernie) Patrick, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Bernie was born on June 21, 1936, in Jansen, CO to Anthony and Rose Patrick. After graduating from Holy Trinity High School in 1955 he joined the Army where he was stationed in Korea for the majority of his service. Upon leaving the Army, Bernie worked for Colorado Forest Service in Soil Conservation.
Bernie married his high school sweetheart, Agnes (Cimino) Patrick in 1964, and started a new life in Denver, CO. Together they raised four wonderful children and enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage. He was a machinist with Worthington Corporation for 12 years. Eventually, Bernie got into recreational vehicle sales and settled in Colorado Springs where he lived until his death.
Bernie was an avid outdoorsman, with a passion for fishing and hunting. He traveled throughout Colorado sharing fishing experiences with his closest friends and family, and chances are, he fished most of Colorado's lakes at some point in his life. He passed his love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. As a first-generation Italian-American, he was passionate about continuing the customs of his youth, and was known for making many traditional Italian dishes and desserts.
A devoted Bronco fan, Bernie was a season ticket holder since the team's founding. He never gave up on his Broncos through all of their ups and downs and showed his support through his extensive Broncos wardrobe.
Bernie was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a Fourth Degree, lifetime and charter member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph the Worker Council 13099,. His faith carried him through profound challenges and losses in his life.
Bernie was preceded in death by his daughters, Kris Glover and Kari Fogle, and his son, David Patrick.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes, his daughter, Denise Patrick, five grandchildren, Adam J., Amanda (Matt Pyle) and Alex Glover, and Jacob and Isabel Fogle, and by his great granddaughter, Emry Pyle. Bernie is also survived by his sister, Joanna (Patrick) Graf, his brother-in-law, Arnold Cimino, brother- and sister-in-law, Tom and Sylvia Passarelli, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1830 S. Corona Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. The Rosary will take place at 10:30 am with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Mt. Carmel Wellness and Community Center or Sister Blandina Garden in Trinidad, or Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center in Colorado Springs.
