Bertha Jackey Obituary

Jan. 23, 1926 – Feb. 2, 2008

Bertha Mae Jackey, 82, of Anderson, died Feb. 2, 2008, at Saint John’s Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Anderson, the daughter of Charles C. and Etta M. (Brown) Bricker. She resided in Anderson her entire life.

She was a graduate of Anderson High School, Class of 1944.

Bertha graduated from General Motors Institute of Technology to become an engineer and was employed in that capacity by Delco Remy Div. of General Motors, in Anderson, until retiring in 1969.

She was a longtime member of the Main Street Church of God in Anderson.

Our beloved Bertha is survived by her husband, Leo C. Jackey of Anderson; stepchildren, Paul, Daniel, David, Bobby and Mickie Jackey; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends who knew her during her lifetime.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. and Etta M. Bricker.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, 6805 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Anderson, officiated by Pastor Clyde Denney. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Church of God, 4211 S Main St., Anderson IN 46013

Guilkey Funeral Home, Anderson, is in charge of arrangements.
