Betty L. Hurley of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2023 after a battle with breast cancer. She was 89 years old. Betty was a native Coloradan born in Fleming, Colorado. She was raised in Sterling, where she met the love of her life, Albert Hurley. They married in Ft. Morgan on August 22, 1950. They had 5 children together. The Family moved to Colorado Springs in 1968.
Betty was a Realtor and Bookkeeper. She was a woman strong in her faith. Her hobbies included several golf leagues as a member of the Colorado Springs Country Club, many bowling leagues and she would challenge anyone for a good card game. She also would not turn down an opportunity for a round of Putt Putt golf with the grandkids.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Albert Hurley, parents, Thomas Slizewski and Ruth (Blake) Slizewski, brothers, Bernard Slizewski, Orville Slizewski, Myron Slizewski, Charles Slizewski, sister Virginia Hettinger, son Patrick Hurley and grandson Tyler Martin.
Betty is survived by her sister Marjorie Artzer, her daughters, Linda Hurley, Vivian Hurley, Gloria Martin (Shawn), Annette Virgil (Randy), grandchildren, Blake Cooley-Szentmartoni (Emily), Ashley Virgil, Troy Hurley, Shelly Harper (Chris), Patty Hurley, Thomas Cramer, Matthew Ehrlich and Lynette Hafkey. Great grandson, Zachary Thackeray (Candace) plus, more admiring great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and daughter in law Laurene Stone-Hurley.
Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2023 at 3 PM at
Cappadona Funeral Home, 1020 E Fillmore St., Colorado Springs, CO. 80907
