Betty Jernigan Obituary

Betty LaRue Jernigan, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 15, 2008. Betty was born in Van Bibber, Maryland on April 27, 1928. Betty married Brodie L. Jernigan on February 14, 1952 and bore three children; Steven (Judy), Graye Huskins (Christopher) and Patrick (Adriana). Betty is survived by her children; her brother Harold Reddish, of O'Fallon, Ilinois and grandson, Adam McNeill. One of the great joys of her life was Dylan McNeill, whom she loved dearly. Betty was preceded in death by her grandson, Travis Altizer. Betty was a long-time Civil Service employee, retiring from her job at Fort Carson in 1996. Betty loved her job and was loved by all her co-workers. Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting, shopping, decorating her house and spending time with her loved ones. Betty was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. For information on the memorial gathering, please call 238-1754. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Dear Graye and Brodie and family. Although we knew Betty was quite ill, I was saddened to learn of her death. I will miss her at the clinic. I could see her spunky spirit and how hard it was for her to manage being ill. Please know you have been in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Jan Anderson, N.P.
