Betty Landry Obituary

Betty Jean Landry, age 79, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 at her home in Colorado Springs after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was an Air Force wife, loving mother, and grandmother. Betty Jean McMillin was born on November 19, 1931 in Welsh, Louisiana to the late Olin and Flosse (Cole) McMillin. She was a 1948 graduate of Jennings High School and married Francis M. “Pete� Landry on May 18, 1952 in Welsh, Louisiana. She was a member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church and enjoyed time with dear friends and family, volunteer work and helping others. Betty was a beautiful and gentle soul that served as the glue that held her family and friends together. She is survived by her husband, CMSgt Pete Landry USAF (Ret.) of Colorado Springs, her children: Pam Landry of Colorado Springs; Debbie (husband, Ron) Mohler of Poquoson, Virginia and her son: Bob Landry of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her brother: Donald (wife, Renate) McMillin of Venice, Florida and her sister: Vera “Noonie� Boudreaux of Jennings, Louisiana. A Mass and Burial will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree in Colorado Springs. A visitation/viewing will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the Church. Burial will be a Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside services at the Church. Memorials may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 2315 Bott Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904.
