Beverly Petersen of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away May 25, 2025 at the age of 82.
Beverly was born in Sac County, Iowa on February 26, 1943 to William and Helen Walter. She grew up on a farm with seven brothers and sisters. She completed her nursing degree at the St. Anthony Hospital, School of Nursing, in Carroll, Iowa in 1962 and married Andrew Petersen that same year. Beverly and Andrew moved to Colorado in 1970 and raised three boys. Beverly worked as a nurse in hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities well into her 70s and always felt compelled to take care of others.
Beverly enjoyed playing the organ, baking, reading and spending time at their family log home in Twin Lakes, CO.
Beverly is survived by three sons, Brian (Jen), Bradley (Ana) and Brent (Angela), eight grandchildren, and two younger sisters, Barbara Feddersen and Audrey Dixon. She is also survived by her beloved Chihuahua/Dachshund Bootsie.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Andrew Petersen, and five siblings, Duane, Shirley, Russel, Lowell and Kenny.
Beverly's funeral will be held at 1:00 PM on June 11, 2025 at the First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, CO.
