Beverly Schroder Obituary

Beverly "Joyce" Schroder
Feb. 15, 1929 - Jan. 5. 2013
Resident of Walnut Creek
On January 5th, with family and friends by her side, Joyce lost her valiant battle with lung cancer. She had a zest for life, love for adventure and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Joyce was born in Independence KS, spent her childhood in Grand Junction CO, moved to California and graduated from Acalanes High School. In the 1950's, she worked for PGE while earning her private pilot license. She raised a family in the 60's then ran a charter service at Buchannan Field in the 70's and 80's. For the last 20+ years she has enjoyed retirement, grandkids and friends while gardening, traveling, and being the #1 fan of Robert Downey Jr.
Joyce is survived by her children Deborah DeVito, Ted Schroder (Maria), and Stacie Schroder; grandchildren Aaron Bradley, Rachel and Josh Schroder. Her sparkling smile and loving spirit will be missed by all that knew her.
Family and friends will be invited to a celebration of life which is still being planned. Please contact the immediate family for information.

I did not know her. Only by what I read. But, I know that she is blessed and living vibrantly in other deminsions. And, my thoughts go out to those who love her and miss her being in this place. "Live on Ms. Joyce"***

Joyce was an amazing woman! Her love of life and its adventures taught us all how to live each day to the fullest. She had a beautiful spirit...one she shared with all she came in contact with.
Her joy of life and lessons of the heart will always be a part of us.

Joyce was one of the sweetest people I ever knew, with a remarkable thirst for life. Hers was well spent. So grateful I knew her. Love to her family.

Joyce was the best neighborhood mom, while everyone remembers her smile, I also loved her laugh, she kept all us kids in line and getting along while letting us run wild with imagination, it was always fun being at the "Schroeder" house. As we all grew to adults, Joyce kept a genuine intrest in our well beings...always an awesome inspiration, great mom, and dear friend...much love. Deby Pressnall

I love you mom.

Joyce's smile touched so many. She was such a wonderful "mom" and "grandma" to me and my kids. She stood by my side through some very dark times and kept us smiling. I love you Joyce! We will miss you until the day we are reunited! I know you're smiling down on a of us!
