Beverly passed away on January 14, 2010 in Colorado Springs CO at the age of 91. She was born in Seattle, WA to Gunnar and Emma (Meyer) Taarvig. She was the oldest of three daughters. On November 13, 1942, Beverly married John R. Wadden, and they had 46 years together until his passing in April of 1988. Beverly had resided in LaCrosse, WI; Philadelphia PA; Cheverly MD; and Annandale VA until she relocated to Colorado Springs in 2004 to live with her daughter, Maureen Combs. Beverly had worked at the Dept of the Navy and then as a Curator at the Powel House (
http://www.philalandmarks.org/powel_history.aspx) for the Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks in Philadelphia, PA during the 1940s; as an Elementary School Teacher in WI and MD; as a Professional Seamstress in MD and VA; and as a Manager for 15 years in the Order Division of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. She was an avid reader, enjoyed ballroom dancing and touring historical homes/buildings, was an enthusiastic bridge player, and liked attending sporting events of her grandchildren. Beverly is survived by seven children: Richard (Nancy) Wadden of Chantilly, VA; Dr. Gregory (Rosemary) Wadden of Los Altos, CA; LTC (Retired) Maureen (John) Combs of Colorado Springs, CO; Mark (Marie Claire) of Quebec, Canada; Dr. Michael (Kristin) Wadden of Shingle Springs, CA; Mary Ann Schiffner of Orangevale, CA; and Robert (Estella) Wadden of Alexandria, VA; nine grandchildren: Mary Wadden of CA, David Wadden of VA, Elizabeth Wadden of CA, Ensign Matthew Wadden of CT, Melanie Wadden of VA, Reed Combs of CO, Matthew Wadden of CA, Nathan Wadden of CA, and Angela Wadden of VA. Beverly is also survived by one sister, Mary Faith Craig of LaCrosse, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister, Gloria Cotton. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM with a Mass of Catholic Faith Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at St Paul Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road, Colorado Springs, CO.
