On Wednesday March 24, 2021 Billie R. Harding stepped into the presence of the Lord. He was a beloved Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend. Billie Richard Harding was born on March 15, 1931 at Beth El Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Alvin and Effie Harding. Billie grew up on a farm and ranch near Ellicott, Colorado where he learned many trades. He attended and graduated from Ellicott School. He helped with the family farm and ranch. He learned to weld at a young age. At the age of 6 he got his first cow and his dad taught him how to raise cattle and has had cattle ever since. He met Rhoda Joan Johnson, who was from the Ellicott area as well, and fell in love and were married on October 7, 1950. To that union was born Debra J. Bradley and Sharon K. Shaw. Billie then joined the Airforce and they were stationed in Bermuda for 3 and a half years. When they returned they bought property and started Harding Nursery in 1957.Billie and Joan worked hard to develop Harding Nursery and enjoyed growing the plants and trees. They have lived at the nursery ever since. Billie lived his life to the fullest and loved to tell stories about all of the things he has done. Billie loved Calf Roping, riding horses, Fishing, Hunting, Camping, Racing, Flying his plane, Woodworking, working with rocks and so many other things. Billie and Joan enjoyed traveling. Most of all Billie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Billie is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Effie Harding and sister Yvonne. Mother and Father in-law Poole and Rhoda Johnson.
Billie is survived by Wife Rhoda Joan Harding; Brother; Leslie (Ann) Harding; Brother; Barrie (Lee) Harding; Daughter Debra Jo and her husband Mark Bradley; Daughter Sharon Kay and her husband Terry Shaw; Grandchildren: Casey (Greg) Gent, Kristen (Chad) Burnside and Dustin Shaw; Great Grandchildren: Bailey Gent, Beau Gent, Beck Gent, Brock Burnside, Brody Burnside, and Bron Burnside; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service are as follows:
Viewing will be held at Swan Law Funeral Directors 501 N Cascade Ave Colorado Springs, CO on Wednesday March 31, 2021 beginning at 10:30am. Following will be a private Funeral Service beginning at 11:30am. Billie will be laid to rest at Calhan Cemetery on March 31, 2021 at 1pm, open to any who would like to attend.
