Boyd Quinn Obituary

Boyd Quinn has deep roots on the Eastern plains of Colorado: Born in Limon, Boyd attended grade school at River Bend where he rode to 1st grade on his horse. The Quinn family then moved to Arriba until 1947 when they relocated just east of Colorado Springs. Boyd attended Ellicott High School and was drafted into the Army in 1951. Boyd spent his 21st birthday in the Korean trenches where he served 9 months on the front line. From Korea he came back home to Colorado Springs and worked as a mechanic at Ace Auto Service on South Wahsatch. There he met his wife, Eunice, of almost 55 years. He remained in the Army Reserve until 1959. Boyd has two children; Maggie Quinn and Timothy Quinn and one grandson Harley Young, all living in Colorado Springs. He loved the family mountain cabin. "Gandpa Boyd" was favored by many children as he loved and cherished little ones. Boyd was a Snap On Tools salesman for 33 years beginning in 1960. His generosity and quiet appreciation of the Colorado landscape will be missed by all that knew him. A celebration of life reception and color guard memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23 at 2pm at memorial Gardens Cemetery. Graveside services will follow the memorial.
