“Why?!” You'll be asking this question many times as you travel this unspeakably painful journey without your beloved Brandon; the death of a young person just never makes sense. I didn't know Brandon, but I had Tyler in my World History class last year. If Brandon was anything like Tyler, he was a wonderful young man! I pray that you feel God's love and comfort as He holds you so tenderly as you grieve; may the beautiful memories you made with Brandon hold you until you meet again.

I was blessed to know Brandon for the past two years as both his Government and Economics teacher. He had a tender sensitive heart and keen sense for other people's moods. Brandon noticed I wasn't myself this past September after I returned from my dad's funeral in Michigan. He was that rare kid who not only sensed those things, but acted on them. As I was passing his desk that first day back, he looked up and asked "Is everything o.k. Mr. Duensing?" We shared a few comments and moved on with class. That honest expression of Brandon's character was very helpful to me. He was a good kid. He is most certainly missed. We share in your grief. John 14:27 God's peace.

One of the greatest days I ever spent with Brandon was a school day where we took 7th period in Beach Day of Spirit Week to go play tag in the fields behind the school. It was the sweetest most lovely and perfect day I ever had with him. That along with several other memories will follow me for the rest of my life. Brandon was a unique and beautiful soul whom I will miss terribly. My condolences to his family who he loved dearly and spoke of fondly, especially his baby sister who was the light of his life. As one of his friends said, Now he is her guardian angel.
