Dear Jack and Katie and family,

We have such wonderful memories of Brenda and you all. The most recent being on the architectural committee when we moved the seats at church and Brenda researched sun reducing film for the windows. And "knitters and knots" won't be the same without her beautiful baby blankets she was knitting! Thank you for a lovely service at your church.

I'll never forget when Brenda was pregnant with Katie, she was so excited and was a bit nervous of what the neighbors might say! Deeply saddened by her passing but she will forever live in our heart.

Jack, my sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of your beloved Brenda. May God provide strength and courage to endure this most difficult time. You have remained a valued friend, mentor, and colleague throughout the years. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

She seems nothing short of a wonderful woman and I'm confident her spirit will live on in her amazing daughter. Love to you all - you're in my thoughts and prayers.

So sad to hear this news. I loved getting the opportunity to know Brenda through Katie in High School at Cheyenne Mountain. She was always so bright and fun to be around, just like her daughter. My heart goes out to the entire family. Thank you for letting me share in knowing her for a short time. She will never be forgotten.

Brenda was a guiding light and beautiful spirit to all the teachers and families at Ruth Washburn. We will always miss her, but have come away better for having known her.

Brenda was a shining light and a gentle spirit. I am honored to have known her, hiked with her, played tennis with her, laughed with her. Shine on, Brenda.

Brenda's photo says perhaps everything anyone needs to know about her - that gentle spirit and lively smile - always so loving. Qualities I can't put into words are there in her smile. Her church families have been greatly blessed by her presence.

My daughter attended Ruth Wasburn and Brenda's presence there brought such joy to all Ruth Washburn families and was loved by all. She was an amazing teacher and all of her students loved her dearly and it was so clear that she loved each and every student. She will be greatly missed by all the students she taught and their families. My heart goes out to all that know her especially her own family as she was a loving mother and grandmother. I know right now it's a difficult time for her family, but please remember she will always be with you - especially in your hearts. God bless Brenda's family and friends and always remember although she may not be with you physically, her spirit continues on through everyone's life she touched.

We will all miss Brenda so much. She had such a joyful and fun approach to everything that working with her was always wonderful. Our love and prayers to her family.

Many of my most treasured childhood memories include the "sleep overs," Saturday mornings, and special trips with Brenda and her loving parents while growing up in Amarillo. My prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow.

I didn't know Brenda, but I do know Katie, and it sounds like she got her great heart and giving spirit from her precious mom. Prayers are with the family.

I taught with Brenda at Ruth Washburn for a year and was so sorry to hear about her passing. She was an excellent preschool teacher and a wonderful person. My thoughts are with her family.

Our Class Association was not only inspirational, but there were some lighter moments too.

Brenda and I carpooled from elementary school till we were sophmores at Tascosa H.S. She & I had wonderful childhood memories. She will truly be missed by all that knew her. My prayers are with her family.

Brenda was an incredibly caring and compassionate woman. I never saw her without a smile on her face. She was a dear friend.

Brenda was my daughter's first teacher at Ruth Washburn (when she was 3), and she gave Kendall the best experience as she started school. Her gentle, loving nature with children and parents alike made her a gift to all who knew her. The world has lost a wonderful teacher and a bright light. My condolences to Jack and her family.

Jack and family, I grieve with you the loss of such a wonderful person. She was a true gem to be with and everyone loved her. She taught my son (Duncan Slack) when he was three and he still remembers her today at age 17. I was so lucky to get to work as her classroom aide one year and I so enjoyed every day I got to be with her. What an inspiring person she was! "Mom" (you always liked it when I called you that), if I were allowed to choose, I could have never picked anyone better to me my mother-in-law. Thank you for loving me like NO LESS than your daughter, for your affirmation for me as a wife to Matt and a mother to your grandbabies.
