Brent McClanahan Obituary

Brent was born January 21, 1970 in Nebraska City, Nebraska and unexpectedly was taken from us on December 7, 2010 from acute pancreatitis. Brent graduated from Woodland Park High School in 1988. After graduation he worked in the surveying field and then started his own tile setting company in Nebraska and Iowa. Brent is survived by his Mother Gayle McClanahan, Stepfather Jack Zajac, Aunts Kathy Kovalskas and Nanci Eaton, Stepbrothers Nathaniel Zajac and Christian Zajac, Stepsisters Cassandra Burgett and Natalie Zajac, Sister-in-law Jennifer McClanahan and Stepchildren Angie Hernandez, Alyssa Brock and Aricca Sondag. Brent loved fishing, mountain biking, 4x4 trucks and his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers! Brent had a heart of gold and the bluest eyes. He would do anything to help another. Brent is together again with his younger Brother Zachary McClanahan, his Father Charlie McClanahan, his Grandparents Glen and Clara Bell Eaton, Auntie Bobbie, Grandma Tody and his friend Damon Christianson. Brent is no longer in pain. Donations may be made in Brent's name to NAMI-510 Willamette, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 or The Teller County Regional Animal Shelter-308 Weaverville Rd., Divide, CO 80814. A Celebration and Remembrance of Brent's life will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Eagle Fire Lodge, 777 E. Hwy. 24, Woodland Park, CO.

I love you Dad! I miss you more and more the older I get, I would give anything to be able to speak with you again and to be able to introduce you to my son.

To the McClanahan and Zajac Families:

What a privilege and honor it was to know Brent, who so freely and selflessly shared his experience, strength, and hope with others, specifically my son, Damon Christianson, and me.
I believe God worked through Brent as a source of inspiration and encouragement.
I can't help but think that they are riding their mountain bikes on heaven's endless trails, laughing and filled with their Father's delight.

Much love to you and yours,

Mike, Shelley, McKinze and Caleb Burgess
