Brett Vossler Obituary

Brett Edward Vossler Brett's life started in Tulare California, on June 18, 1981, at the hospital where his mother worked as an Obstetrics nurse. When he came into the world, he was an adorable, healthy, little baby boy, with two huge dimples, and big blue eyes, who was welcomed and loved by his family. The whole world of life's possibilities lay before him. He demonstrated great intelligence early in life, and was enrolled in the G.A.T.E. program for gifted students during his attendance at Garden Elementary School. He excelled in mathematics and science. He also attended Live Oak Middle School, Valley High School, and graduated from Tulare Union High School. His further schooling included College of the Sequoias and Monterey Peninsula College. During his childhood, he attended First Baptist Church with his family, and was able to go to several of the youth camps, which he enjoyed very much. He developed a great love for the outdoors. He had a very green thumb and was able to coax just about any plant into growing beautifully. He was involved with a local Boy Scout Troop, starting as a Tiger Cub. He had the opportunity to play an orphan in the Encore Theater production of "Oliver". He also took guitar lessons and became very proficient at playing acoustic guitar in the classical style, as well as electric guitar. His career goal was to become a landscape architect, so that he could spend his life in the outdoors, doing what he loved. Brett passed away on December 1, 2011. We will all miss the person he was in the good times, and the person we knew he could have become. Brett was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Merlene Keating, and his paternal grandfather, Gerald Vossler, step-father, Mark Thrasher, and cousin Justin Van Alstyne. He is survived by his mother, Linda Thrasher, & her fiancée Alan Callanan, of Tulare, CA.; his father and stepmother, Ty & Sylvia Vossler, of Seaside, CA; his brother, Andrew Vossler, of Tulare, CA; his sister Kylie Vossler, and her fiancée, Derral Kaz Bryan, of Visalia, CA; his grandmothers, Bettye Vossler, of Bakersfield, CA, and Carol Joann Thrasher (Gramma T), his step-siblings, Christopher Thrasher of Visalia, CA, Cole Thrasher and Charlotte Thrasher of Tulare, CA; Aunts and Uncles, Nancy Keating, of Aptos, CA, and Susan Keating, of Live Oak, FL, Dan and April Vossler, Solvang, CA, Donald and Tina Hardaway, Bakersfield, CA; cousins Danika, Anna, Carlos, Emily, Jacob, Megan, Bethany, Adam, Emily. He was "Uncle Brett" to Adam, Holley, Evan, & Eric, and Sierra. A private family memorial service will be held in January. Remembrances, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Visalia Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 109, Visalia, CA 93292.

Dear Linda and family,
My heart breaks for you Linda. I think Brett was Phillip's first friend in the world and we have so many happy memories growing up next door to each other. I have some funny pictures of those simplier days that make me smile. I pray that the Lord and your family will surround you with peace and love.
