Bruce Corley Obituary

Corley, Jr.
Bruce Patrick Corley, Jr.
December 11, 1953 - April 28, 2018
Bruce Patrick Corley, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully April 28, 2018, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He is now at rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is enjoying a mighty reunion with the saints who preceded him; his father, Bruce Sr.; mother, Dora; sister, Becky Rebello; and nephew, Mikey Thomson.
Bruce was born in San Francisco on December 11, 1953. At age three, his father's military career moved the family to West Point, New York where they lived until 1969. Bruce graduated from Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, California where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He attended College of San Mateo and then achieved his BA in Business Administration from Cal State Hayward. He worked in the Savings & Loan industry until the mid-90's then transitioned into sales development for several hi-tech firms, eventually working for Optiv since 2008. He loved traveling to trade shows and meeting new people.
His favorite place was on the beach, whether in California, Hawaii, Mexico, or Costa Rica. He enjoyed eating, hiking, camping, and working in his garden. Mostly, though, Bruce enjoyed people. He always had a ready smile and was willing to help others. For many years, he led a career ministry at Woodmen Valley Chapel, passionately helping people looking for work. Bruce was a gentle, kind, and humble man of faith who worked hard for his family.
Bruce is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Jill; two sons, Matthew and Philip; three brothers, John (Rosalie), Michael, and Robert (Cynthia); and three sisters, Paula (Jack) Thomson, Linda (Chuck) Rusch, and Gerianne (Daniel) Rodriguez, along with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service, 1:00PM, Tuesday, May 8, 2018, Woodmen Valley Chapel-Woodmen Heights Campus, 8292 Woodmen Valley View, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908.
Private Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bruce's memory to Woodmen Valley Chapel Missions Fund, 290 East Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80919 or to KTLF Light Praise Radio, 1665 Briargate Boulevard, Suite 100, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80290 or online at KTLF.org.

Without a doubt Bruce was one of the kindest souls I knew. I worked with him at FrontRange. Jill and family: I am so very sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Bruce at Optiv for the past 6 years. Whenever Bruce visited the Denver office, he would always stop in to say hello. I enjoyed our discussions very much. He had a great way with people. He cared deeply about his coworkers and his company. I last spoke with Bruce at the company sales kick off in Denver. He spent about 15 seconds on his battle with cancer, and quickly shifted the topic to some new ideas he had on generating more leads at Optiv. I recall being humbled by his focus and passion for the company. I remain very sad to hear the news of his passing. My thoughts go out to Bruce's family, friends and team mates. We will miss you Bruce.

Rest peacefully Bruce. I so enjoyed meeting him as a co-worker at Optiv. His spirit for all things productive and profitable was inspirational. We shared many good stories about the Colorado Springs area. I grew up there, and we shared a great many common memories of that wonderful community he was blessed to call home.
