Bruce Crow Obituary

Bruce E. Crow, beloved husband, father, son and brother, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 after a hard fought, five year battle with cancer. Bruce was born May 28, 1953 in Salzburg, Austria. He was deeply loved throughout his life by his parents, Arthur and Theresia (David) Crow and his younger brothers: Ralph, Art and Glenn. Bruce was active in sports and achieved the Order of the Arrow as an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Widefield High School in 1971 and enlisted in the Navy. He was proud to have served his country as a Vietnam Veteran. After six years of service, he returned to Colorado where he eventually went to work for Colorado Springs Utilities. Bruce was a supervisor at Martin-Drake Power Plant and retired from after twenty-seven years of service. In 1987 he met his future wife, Julie. They fell in love and were married on August 11, 1990. Their years together were blessed with challenge, fun and great joy. He was an amazing husband, very proud father of sons, Brian and Shane, and a staunch friend. He was deeply loved by all who truly knew him. Bruce enjoyed an active life participating in baseball, basketball, softball, golf, even rough stock rodeo. His true love, given to him by his father, was for hunting and fishing. Bruce loved being in the mountains, immersing himself in the peace of fly-fishing or the camaraderie of friends telling stories with friends after a long days hunt. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Julie; his sons, Brian and Shane Crow; his parents, Arthur and Theresia Crow; his brothers, Ralph and Glenn and beautiful granddaughter, Skyla Crow. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Road. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Pikes Peak Christian Church building fund or the American Cancer Society. Remembrances may be left at www.legacy.com.

Julie and family,
I am sadden to hear of the passing of Bruce. I met Julie years ago when she would handle the travel arrangements for my daughter's hockey team. Although I did not know Bruce very well, I knew the love and devotion Julie had for her husband. My prayers are with you and your family.

Bruce and I grew up together in Widefield and have been friends for over forty years. I am sadden by his passing at such a young age. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle person who would do anything for you. I will never forget our friendship as long as I live. I wish to express my sincere condolences to the entire Crow family. May God bless you and your families. This is not goodbye, just a delay until we meet again my friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. I was a childhood friend of Bruce and lived across the street from the Crow family for many years. I have very fond memories of the time I lived in Widefield and most of those memories include the Crow family. Although I have not seen Bruce for many years I know he was an incredible person and that he will be dearly missed.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Julie,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, and your entire family. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Many years have passed since I met you both for the first time, and I will forever be blessed by our friendship. I will always remember Bruce for his kind and gentle soul, for the quiet way he had about him, but yet, when he spoke of somthing he was passionate about (his family, hunting, fishing, or even sports) his eyes would light up. He was a special individual, and I know he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

May you feel God's comforting presence during this difficult time.

I knew Bruce from his being a patient at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center. I worked as an operator/receptionist there until May of this year. Any time that I talked to him either on the phone or in person, he was very pleasant and nice to me. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Lee Ann Marshall (operator/receptionist at RMCC)
